Portable Welding

In addition to what Comet Inc. can provide our customers in-house, Comet Welding can also provide on-site service with our portable rigs.  We are able to offer MIG, TIG, and STICK services as well as Oxyfuel and Plasma cutting.  Whether it be a welding repair on a front end loader or installing a steel stairwell, Comet Welding is happy to satisfy your on-the-road needs.

Cutting   

Since starting as a welding company, in 1954, Comet Inc. has become quite competitive in the metal cutting/shape of steel, stainless, and aluminum as well. We offer our customers a choice of High Definition Cutting on either our 8' x 20' Messer plasma table or our 6' x 12' Mitsubishi laser table. We also offer a 1/2 by 12’ shear with programmable back-gauge, a vertical fully automatic saw with auto feed and up to 60o angle cuts, and a horizontal saw up to 45o angle cuts.

Forming

Along with its cutting options, Comet Inc. is able to form or roll your material. Starting with a 250 ton x 14’ and 500 ton x 12’ programmable press with an automatic programmable back-gauge auto crown. We are able to form anything from a simple angle to a multiple bend shape. For your heavier needs, Comet Inc. has a 600 ton x 18 ft. press able to bend simple but large angles, or bump bending the liner plate for a dozer blade or loader bucket. We also can accommodate rolling needs, with our 3/16 x 6’roll.

Fabrication

We are able to combine all of our many abilities to match any of your fabrication needs, including structural items.  Over the years Comet Inc. has been building heavy gauge weldments to light gauge drip pans. From rebuilding back hoe buckets to designing and building railings for staircases and platform areas.  The project can be one piece or hundreds in steel, stainless, or aluminum.  Whether repair work or new, Comet Inc. is here to help with all of your fabrication needs.

Welding

Comet is set up to handle your small to large welding needs.  Whether it be a one-of-a-kind weldment, multiple pieces, or small to large items that are in need of repair.  We are experienced in steel, stainless, and aluminum applications.  Using procedures for MIG, TIG, and STICK, and are state structural certified. With the use of our 10 and 20 ton overhead cranes we are able to work with even larger items.
